Payment options for easy enrolment
At TAFE NSW we provide a range of easy and flexible payment options to help make completing your dream course a reality.
You can pay for yourself (as the student enrolled), via a nominated third party (e.g. your employer), or as identified within a contract for delivery of TAFE NSW training. There are also many options for financial assistance to help you cover your fees, including student loans and scholarships.
Payments may be made:
- Via EFTPOS, Visa, MasterCard, personal cheque, bank cheque or money order (payable to 'TAFE NSW').
- Over the phone, via the internet or at a campus using a credit card.
- Through the Student Portal using a credit card.
- Via generating a statement through the Student Portal and payment via BPay through your bank's internet or phone banking service.
Please note: Cash is not accepted.
When your enrolment is complete, and you have paid the applicable fees, you will be entitled to:
- attend/participate in training;
- sit for examinations;
- receive educational awards;
- use TAFE NSW amenities and services; and
- receive an active TAFEcard (which provides access to library resources).
Paying fees in instalments
To help manage the cost of your study, TAFE NSW offers a range of pay-as-you-go options, such as payment by instalments. This means you make small regular payments. Your first payment is required to confirm your enrolment in the course.
Options include:
- Instalment plans
- Split payments
To apply for a payment plan please contact your local TAFE NSW. The amount of your first payment and the number of instalments will depend on the course you plan to study and your individual circumstances.
Please note that:
- if you choose to pay by instalments, you are still liable for the full course cost should you choose to withdraw from the course prior to completing your payments.
- if your employer or nominated third party stops payment of your student fees, then you are still liable for the remaining student fees as a condition of your enrolment and continuing study.
What if you are behind in paying your fees?
If you have outstanding fees, please contact your local TAFE NSW as soon as possible to discuss alternate arrangements. If you have outstanding fees or charges, your access to training and learning materials may be blocked and you will not be provided with documents related to your study, such as a transcript of your academic record or testamur. TAFE NSW may also ultimately have to refer your outstanding fees for debt recovery action.

Temporary Visa holders
If you are in Australia on a temporary visa and that visa allows you to study, you can apply to study at one of our campuses. The rules that apply to you, though, are different from those for our local students, or international students on a student visa.

Refunds and withdrawals
At TAFE NSW we understand that events may arise which mean you need to withdraw from or defer your study. If for any reason you do need to withdraw from your course or seek a refund of fees, you will need to notify your campus in writing and complete the relevant forms.
As your refund eligibility and amount is affected by when you notify us of your withdrawal, please do notify your campus as soon as possible after your decision.
