Help Stephen Lucas Beat Leukaemia!

One of our ‘Manly Family’, Stephen “DJ Spook” Lucas, has been diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia (APML), which is a rare sub-type of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) and is sometimes referred to as AML M31. APML accounts for only 10% of all AML diagnoses.
Most of you will know Stephen as the creator of the GUESS WHAT? MANLY HATES YOU TOO!!! banner which has become a much loved slogan for Manly fans everywhere. Stephen is determined to beat this terrible disease and be back on the hill to cheer on his beloved Sea Eagles but our help would be invaluable in his fight to help ease the stress whilst he battles through this hard time.
Not only is Stephen a massive Manly supporter he is a massive family man too!! Stephen enjoys spending time with his nephew and nieces in Brisbane. Now having being diagnosed with Leukaemia, Stephen will require the support of his family and more than likely have to relocate from Sydney to Brisbane so they can assist with his ongoing treatment and recovery. His friends would like to raise some money to help with ongoing bills including medical expenses, daily transportation to and from the hospital once he is released, and relocation costs to assist him getting back on his feet.
Unfortunately prior to his Leukaemia diagnosis Stephen was unable to work for some time due to a debilitating back injury which forced him onto a Disability support pension which meant he was not in a great financial position prior to his Leukaemia diagnosis. Upon his release from his full time Hospital stay Stephen will be receiving daily treatment and Chemotherapy over the next three to five years, he will require constant trips back and forth to the hospital via taxi for continued treatment and simply is not in the financial,position to be able to do this.
Cancer is a horrible disease which none of us are ever truly ready for as is the same for Stephen and his family, a small donation would be greatly appreciated and will allow Stephen to concentrate on the main task of getting better as well as relieving the stress on him and his family.
