LOVE INDONESIA T-Shirt

Donation protected

UPDATE: I have established a reliable foundation to funnel the funds to and they are providing additional support in helping get the shirts from the printer in Bali to the dive shops and yoga shops that are hopping on board. Thanks to Ana at the Pituq Foundation things are really coming together! There is a lot to tell but let me say some things quick while technology cooperates here. this trip has already been more amazing than I could have hoped for but the struggle here is real. A lot of things are destroyed, a lot of people were hurt or lost loved ones, and there is little help coming in. I have never seen such a striking juxtaposition of paradise and chaos. Outside of the obvious, the biggest problem everyone is facing is that there is no tourist money coming in and globally people seem to be afraid to return to the region due to its recent earthquake activity. They need money for anything from food to water to medicine to building supplies, you name it, they need your help. if I can hit my goal I can raise approximately 20000 US dollars for the region, which will certainly be a drop in the bucket but it will be directed 100% to the pituq foundation, which is at the absolute epicenter of the disaster and funneling money to the most desperate areas and those most affected by the situation. Stateside I have Night Owls print shop in Houston, TX lined up to produce a small run of the shirts for those that have donated to the cause. In Indonesia I have Bobbi Bali printing shirts as we speak and the first batch will be to the shops within 2 weeks. The shirts are produced with environmentally friendly materials and a printing process that utilizes no harmful chemicals. They also come packed in an eco-friendly way that eliminates plastic bags (which sea turtles hate). Check out pituq.com to see the amazing things they have going...i really lucked into finding them and I can't say enough about their efforts. I paid a bunch of money out of my own pocket to get this thing rolling and I could really use your help keeping it moving. Thank you everyone for your support! Garret

SITUATION OVERVIEW

A 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit the Indonesian island of Lombok on August 5, 2018. The epicenter was located 18 km northwest of East Lombok, which is in the northern part of the island. A tsunami warning was issued immediately after the quake by the Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysical Agency (BMKG).

Nearly 100 people were killed and more than 235 were injured.

Those numbers are expected to rise as assessment teams reach all areas of Lombok.

The earthquake occurred one week after the region was hit by a 6.4 magnitude quake, and has been followed by more than 130 aftershocks, according to BMKG.

The National Disaster Management Agency, which is coordinating response efforts, estimates that there was damage to more than half of the houses in five sub-districts in North Lombok district.
Water supply and electricity have been severed in many areas and three bridges collapsed in Lombok, making it difficult to access all areas with aid. The quake was felt in the neighboring island of Bali, where there was damage to houses and buildings.

According to our partners in Indonesia, communities are most in need of food, drinking water, sanitation facilities, clothes, blankets, medical care and medicine, psychosocial support, and temporary shelter materials, like tarpaulins. People who have lost their houses are staying with relatives or in temporary housing structures, as the government has yet to set up formal shelters to house the displaced.

Strong aftershocks remain a concern and populations in vulnerable areas have been advised to follow all earthquake safety procedures established by the local disaster response authorities.
