2021 CIS Secondary Swimming & Diving Championships

The 2021 CIS Secondary Swimming & Diving Championships will be held at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 April, 2021. 

Due to the impact of COVID-19, there are a number of additional plans in place to ensure the safety of all attendees. Please read through the following information carefully. 

Timing

Swimming - Monday 26 April

Entry: 4:30pm

Warm-Up: 5:00pm

Carnival Commences: 6:00pm

Carnival Concludes: 9:30pm

Swimming - Tuesday 27 April

Entry: 7:30am

Warm-Up: 8:00am

Carnival Commences: 9:00am

Carnival Concludes: 4:00pm

Diving - Tuesday 27 April

Entry: 7:30am

Warm Up: Diving Warm-Up will occur prior to each event. Please refer to the Diving Program for details. Session 1 Warm-Up will commence at 8:00am

Carnival Commences: 9:00am

Carnival Concludes: 2:00pm

Please note: 

  • The carnival will opperate under ARRIVE, COMPETE, LEAVE protocols
  • Please aim to minimise the time spent at the venue both before and after your event/s
Entry and Exit

Carnival Entry and Exit will be through the Mouse Hole Event Entry only.

This is located on the Eastern side of the pool -  (off the carpark at the Diving end of the pool).

Whilst awaiting entry please follow directions of staff and signage, and be aware of physical distancing.

Carnival Official / School Staff / Coaches / Sepctators and Competitors must sign in and out via Service NSW QR Code. 

CIS recommends all persons seeking entry download the Service NSW phone app prior to arriving at the carnival.

ONLY ONE SPECTATOR/ADULT PER COMPETITOR will be permitted entry.

Additional COVID-19 Guidelines

Showers: The showers at the venue will not be available during the event. CIS recomends competitors arrive ready to compete and limit use of the change room facilities 

Assigned Seating Areas: Please ensure you are seated in the area designated to your Association only

Carnival Seating Map

Spectators: Spectators are encouraged to stay  in the grandstand area. NO SPECTATORS WILL BE ALLOWED IN the MARSHALLING AREA or ON POOL DECK 

Uniform Areas: Please practice physical distancing whilst queuing for uniform or CIS general apparel and follow all instructions from staff. Contactless payment only - no cash

Singing/Cheering/Chanting: Unfortunately, singing, cheering and chanting are not permitted at the event

 

All competitors, spectators and officials are to adhere to all COVID – 19 Guidelines being applied at a CIS venue.

All competitors, spectators and officials are to maintain physical distancing, wash/sanitise their hands regularly and refrain form entering a venue if they are felling unwell.

Live Streaming

The CIS Secondary Swimming Championships will be live streamed. 

If you do not give permission for you child to be live streamed, please contact your Association or the CIS office. 

Schools/Associations must notify CIS of any students that they are aware of that are not to be live streamed.

Additional Carnival Information

Parking: There will be free parking for four (4) hours and $6.00 for every hour afterwards.

In line with COVID-safe practices travel by private transport is recommended. Car-pooling is not recommended.

First Aid: First Aid is provided by Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. 

Dress: Swimmers must fall in line with FINA rules and requirements regarding swimming gear. 

Association caps must be worn. 

Food & Drink: Competitors and spectators are encouraged to bring their own food and drink with them. 

The main cafe will not be accessible during the carnival. 

There will be a food/service concession available on the Eastern Grandstand.
