Animal Justice Party MP Andy Meddick says suggestions his daughter instigated an altercation on Thursday night are "patently untrue".

The crossbencher called into ABC Radio Melbourne's Drive program to "set the record straight".

He tells Raf Epstein what his daughter Kielan said happened.
