‘Corporate leaders too can bring about change’

‘Corporate leaders too can bring about change’
Chhavi Rajawat
HYDERABAD: The youngest person to hold the office of sarpanch in the country, Chhavi Rajawat, feels even corporate leaders can contribute towards transformation of society by setting an example at the workplace and inspiring co-workers.
Rajawat, who was in the city to participate in an ISB session on ‘RISE — Celebrating Women Leaders’ on Saturday, said: “When you are in leadership roles, remember that you are contributing as much to society as anybody else is.
It is not just the job of politicians or bureaucrats to take care of society.”
Speaking about her experiences of working in a rural area, she said the worrying trend is the lack of camaraderie among people as compared to earlier days. Mooting a solution for this, she said there must be a provision wherein all individuals work with the defence forces at least for a couple of months because it is one institution that teaches the importance of team work.
Earlier in the day, Dr P Bandopadhyay, the first woman in Indian Air Force to hold the rank of Air Marshal, too reiterated that a training in defence services teaches one to treat every person with respect and equality.
