ABOUT the RWL12 Toronto Studies in Continuing Education Special Post-Conference Journal Issue

Following each RWL conference event, the chair or co-chairs of the event organize a special post-conference journal issue based on the best papers presented.

Upon acceptance of your RWL12 Toronto proposal, authors wishing to have their conference paper reviewed for inclusion in the special journal issue will be asked to give an in-principle indication of their intention.

Please note:

  • To be considered, a conference paper cannot be under review at any other journal.
  • All papers will be blind-reviewed.
  • If your paper is selected to be included in the special issue, authors will have a three month period (October 15, 2022) following the conference to make revisions and to submit their paper through the Studies in Continuing Education (SCE) portal.
  • Papers must fall within the scope of the journal.
  • The SCE journal is a Q1 journal. Further details about the journal and final submission requirements for the special issue (the same as any other SCE submission) can be found at http://www.tandfonline.com/loi/csce20.

Frequently Asked Questions about Proposal Submission

Can I login into the system without an email address?

No, you need an email address to make a submission.

Who do I contact if I experience problems in submission?

If you experience any issues, please do not hesitate to reach out at rwl12@utoronto.ca.

Do I have to submit my proposal in one go or can I save a draft and come back to it?

You can save a draft of your proposal and come back anytime to submit before the submission deadline. Please note that proposals in draft cannot be seen by anyone in our system.

Does one need to indicate their mode of presentation in the proposal?

Yes, you need to indicate if you would prefer to present in-person or online (remote) or if you could do either. However please also note that there is a comparatively limited number of sessions available for online presentation as our goal is to host an event that is primarily in-person. And, that acceptance will include consideration of barriers to in-person attendance at the conference including but not limited to national travel restrictions, availability of resources in support of travel, and author(s) residing in countries that have been historically under-represented at the RWL conference series.

Can one switch the mode of presentation after indicating preference after the proposal submission?

Unfortunately, no. While we realize that circumstances could change for you, for us to efficiently plan our program and enable a fair proposal review and acceptance system, we request the you indicate your final preference during the proposal submission itself.

Can I submit more than one proposal?

A person can be listed as a contributor (second author, third author, etc.) on no more than two proposal submissions, and a person can only appear as the first-author on one submission.

How many co-authors can make a submission?

Up to six co-authors can be included in a proposal within our submission system. If you want to make a submission with more than six co-authors, please contact us directly at rwl12@utoronto.ca and we will try our best to help you with this. Please note that the first/lead author will serve as the contact person for the submission, responsible for both submitting the proposal as well as informing their co-author(s) of the result.

How long could the title and abstract be?

Please note that the limit for the title is 50 characters (approx. 10 words) and for the abstract it is 3000 characters (approx. 500 words). There is no need to include full reference information in proposals, although you may cite key references in the text is you wish.

I need to go back to the proposal submission system to complete my draft and submit but forgot my password, what do I do?

Use the proposal submission link and enter your email ID you used to start your submission. You will have the option of either entering your password or requesting a link to your email. Click the link in your email inbox and you will be directed to your proposal submission.

I need to go back to the proposal submission system to complete my draft and submit but forgot the email address I used, what do I do?
